Dispatch from New York City, United States.

What can I say about New York that hasn’t been said a thousand times before?

It's the kind of city that leaves a mark, whether it’s your first visit or your thousandth. But right now, I’m standing in Central Park, and I can’t help but feel like the city’s heartbeat echoes here. I’ve seen this park in summer, buzzing with life and the hum of insects by the boat pond, and I’ve seen it in winter, blanketed in snow, looking like a postcard. But today? It’s that perfect New York day—the sky’s a vibrant, impossible blue, the air crisp, and everything feels alive, like I’m walking through history itself. My favorite part? The skyline, rising up beyond the trees, still manages to surprise me, even after all these years.

I drift through the Ramble, letting the winding paths take me wherever they please. Eventually, I reach the Bow Bridge. The iron structure feels like it belongs in another era—Gothic arches, Renaissance details. From here, the view across the lake to the top of the Dakota is breathtaking—so clear I could almost reach out and touch it. The Dakota’s more than just a building to me; it’s a reminder of John and Yoko, their life in this city, the stories that live in these streets.

Before I leave the park, I can’t skip two places that always feel linked in my mind. The Met and Bemelmans Bar. After hours spent wandering through the museum, surrounded by centuries of art, I love sinking into a booth at Bemelmans, letting the warmth of the place wrap around me. With a Madeline Martini in hand, I lean back and soak it all in—New York, with all its magic, and me, right here in the middle of it.
